Postby painagonylove » Thu Aug 07, 2008 8:49 am

Hello!! I am training for a marathon in December and am looking for any groups or ladies who are doing really long training runs weekly. Is there anyone who wants to accompany me on 12-20 miles runs?? Misery loves company... :) Thank ya!

At what pace are you doing your long runs?

If you need to get a little more in earlier, A friend and I have been meeting up (starting run) at 5:00 AM Sundays at the OS side base of the Bridge. We start with a 6-mile loop then go 1.8 more and meet up with the 6:15 Clark Ave guys. Their current route puts us back to the vehicles at 14m or you can reroute for 12 or whatever. Last week we did a 20 miler by adding the 6m loop in again. My next few weeks are 17-20m. Pace is tem/humidity dependent. I prefer close to 8:30-9:00 but have been going slower with temps. Also, my friend has talked me into the Galloway method the past few weeks to run about 9 per mile and walk 30 sec...it's provided alot of extra energy late in the miles. There's a couple water spots along the course and looping back to the vehicle provides a spot also.
Timing has alot to do with the outcome of a rain dance!
