Stennis Run

Postby slostride » Sun Nov 11, 2007 7:23 pm

I have been running for fun and health for a while now but I have never entered a running event. I was thinking about entering the run at Stennis but I know nothing about it. Do all the runners start at the same time? For instance can you register to run the half marathon but only do the 5k if you do not feel you can make it?

All three races (5K, Half Marathon, and Marathon) start together at 8am.
It is OK to change to a shorter distance race if you are having problems.
Just be sure to tell the workers in the finish chute that you changed to the 5K (for example). This is because the numbers are colored coded for each distance. We will need to make the adjustment for results purposes. However, don't let this be a crutch for you. Go for your goal distance, if possible. You may want to come run our Mayor's Cup 5K this Saturday, in Biloxi, before attempting a half marathon for your first race.

Thank-you, I'm thinking about coming to Saturday's race. Can you give me directions please? I live in Picayune, so it will take me a little more than a hour to get there. Thanks

There is a course map on the entry form. Take I-110 south from the interstate into Biloxi. Go east on 90 towards Ocean Springs. Go 3 blocks to Lameuse St. near the Hard Rock Casino. North on Lameuse one block to City Hall.
